Doctorate (PhD) Programmes
The Doctor of Philosophy programme offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology (FEGT) aims to prepare candidates with intellectual background and research skills in the areas of Engineering. The Programme practices a multi-disciplinary approach in course content delivery with emphasis on outcome-based teaching, learning and assessment. It aims to produce graduates with new ideas, theories and insights that are valuable and relevant for advancement of knowledge in the field of engineering.
Careers for PhD graduates are characterized by the expectation to act with considerable independence and to assume major responsibilities. In line with this, graduates would be equipped to demonstrate knowledge in research methodologies, formulate and apply solutions to research, problems and effectively interpret research results and exercise critical judgments.
The graduates are prepared for a wide range of career choices around the world in industry, government agencies, and academia. Generally, they may be employed as consultants in the engineering industries, research officers in research centres and academicians in colleges, universities or other academic institutes.
