UNIVERSITI TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN
On January 23 2023, UTAR Bachelor of Science (Hons) Construction Management’s second year students, named Koh Jia Jian, Lai Xuan Guang and Ng Seh Ying were sponsored by JASSO for UK-SERP 2023 exchange program for one-year duration.
The scholarship that acquired was ‘CERTIFICATE OF JASSO STUDENT EXCHANGE SUPPORT PROGRAM’ with a monthly stipend of 80000 Japanese yen and the period of stay is given from JAN 2024 until JAN 2025.
During the first week of Japan exchange period, the students participated and assisted in the final year project of model making which required to be presented by the Japanese Architecture Students. They collaborated and intercourse with them to create 3D models of Honjo Station, Kitakyushu such as beds, furnitures, pedestrians and etc.
On Feb 3, they formed a research team to participate Arata Isozaki Reduction Series Exhibition located in Kitakyushu Mulnicipal Museum of Art. This research aims to study on his innovative and avant-garde designs thinking who is a prominent architect renowned for his groundbreaking contributions to modern architecture.
On Feb 9, they were invited to join the cultural exchange activities and celebrated Chinese New Year together with Japanese. They took part in preparing the food ingredients of the activities and mini games prepared by the organizer.
