Meeting with Students

The department warmly welcomed the new students joining the department's programmes in June 2024 semester.

Dr. Lee Yu Jen offered valuable advice to the students, emphasizing the importance of:

• Time management
• Developing interpersonal skills
• Effective study habits
• Seeking out references
• Problem-solving
• Enhancing English language proficiency
• Exercising caution when using social media
• Participating actively in club activities and competitions
• 
  

He also reminded students to meet with their academic advisors at least once per semester for course registration for the upcoming semesters. It's recommended to consult with advisors early in the semester if any issues with course registration are anticipated. Additionally, students must maintain a minimum attendance of 80% to be eligible for final examinations.

Representatives from the UTAR Maker’s Club, MBOT Student Chapter, IEM Student Chapter, and UTAR Engineering Society presented to introduce their organizations and highlight upcoming activities to the new students.

Ts. Dr. Wong Ling Yong from the Department of Environmental Engineering took the opportunity to promote the UTAR Green Bank Programme to the students.

The student representatives had a meeting afterwards to discuss the issues encountered by the students on campus.

The meeting was attended by twenty-four students.
