Meeting With Students

The department warmly welcomed both new and returning students to the campus, encouraging them to feel confident in their choice of UTAR.
Dr. Lee Yu Jen outlined the programmes:
- Bachelor of Electronics Engineering with Honours Programme: Focuses on IC design.
- Bachelor of Technology (Electronic Systems) with Honours Programme: Features Work-Based Learning (WBL) with partner companies such as ViTrox Technologies Berhad, Infineon Technologies (Kulim) Sdn. Bhd., and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.
Dr. Lee emphasized the importance of Year 1 subjects, noting that the fundamentals learned will be crucial throughout the programme. He also highlighted the various reasons for enrolling in a university, emphasizing that beyond academics, students will benefit from networking, teamwork, communication skills, managing conflicts, and accepting different work ethics among individuals.
Students were encouraged to join clubs and competitions, explore campus facilities, attend seminars, learn about the industry, and participate in workshops. Dr. Lee advised students on maintaining a strong CGPA, projecting a positive image, and preparing for job interviews. He stressed the importance of effective time management.
Additionally, Dr. Lee addressed practical concerns such as dealing with scams, economic changes, and other challenges that may arise during their studies.
Representatives from various clubs introduced their organizations and outlined upcoming activities to the new students.
