Date: 24 June 2026
Location: UTAR Kampar, Block E, EDK2
Lead Staff: Dr. Lee Yu Jen

Dr. Lee Yu Jen welcomed the new students that has just enrolled in Department of Electronic Engineering's programmes. During the session, several important messages were shared to guide students throughout their university journey.

Students were encouraged to build strong fundamentals in their studies while also developing communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, which are highly valued by employers, especially in engineering fields.

The importance of lifelong learning was emphasized. Just as previous generations adapted to smartphones, today's students must learn to use artificial intelligence effectively and responsibly.

Students were advised to follow their programme structure closely and consult their academic advisors early if any changes are needed, as timetable planning begins well in advance. The academic advisor system encourages students to meet their advisors between Weeks 6 and 8 each semester.

For examinations, students were reminded to bring their examination slips and to uphold honesty and integrity, with zero tolerance for cheating or academic misconduct.

The session also encouraged participation in professional bodies, clubs, and campus activities to enrich the university experience and develop leadership skills. Students were reminded to manage their time wisely, be cautious of scams and gambling, and appreciate the unique strengths of their university.

Finally, support services were highlighted, including counselling services available through the Department of Student Affairs and assistance from Dr. Nuraidayani for students facing stress or personal challenges.
