HOD Remark

Industrial Engineering focuses on the improvement or optimization of complex processes, integrated systems and/or services. It is concentrated with the development, improvement, implementation of integrated systems involving man, material, equipment, money, knowledge, information, energy, analysis and synthesis, as well as the mathematical, physical and social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering design to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems or processes. This programme is comprehensive and interdisciplinary in nature and can be applied in many sectors and situations where cost, quality and productivity are important. Therefore, an industrial engineering graduate can be employed in both industrial and service sectors.

This programme aims to produce graduates who can demonstrate capabilities to acquire and apply knowledge of science and engineering fundamentals, possess in-depth technical competence in the industrial engineering discipline to undertake problem identification, formulation and solution and possess the ability to utilize a systems approach to design and optimize system's performance.
