Exhibition 2019 (iCompEx’19)

Innovation and Invention Competition through Exhibition (iCompEx) is a competition and exhibition of innovation or new discovery projects. The competition is a platform for participants to highlight research findings to the public. It also encourages researchers to pursue innovation or new creation. The iCompEx in this year has attracted a total of 595 innovative projects from universities, colleges, polytechnic, Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara (KKTM), Kolej Vokasional, Giat Mara, Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP), Government Agencies, Industry and etc. iCompEx is an annual event hosted by Polytechnic Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah (POLIMAS) Jitra, Kedah since 2013. The iCompEx organization obtained full cooperation from the Polytechnic Education Department (JPP) and the Kedah State Government. The iCompEx'19 which took place from 19 to 21 March 2019 was the 7th hosting event. This is the fourth time that UTAR FEGT students took part in this prestigious competition. They were highly motivated and committed to this competition and had carried out comprehensive preparation for this event.
On 19 March, students made the registration on Dewan Wawasan, Jitra, Kedah and decorated their booths.
The next day, they reached the Dewan Wawasan before 8.00 am for further preparation. The exhibition started at 8.30 am. There were 2 judges evaluated their research product and presentation. The exhibition ended at 5.30 pm for the first day. On 21 March, the exhibition also started at 8.30am and ended at 5.30 pm.
For this competition, FEGT won 2 gold medals and 2 bronze medals as well as the certificates. Ts. Dr. Sin and Ts. Dr. Lam teams won gold medal and certificate. Ts. Dr. Lam team also won the best innovation project in Category G with cash prize of RM 700. Whereas, both teams from Dr. Toh won bronze medal and certificate.
