A Talk on IR 4.0 in Petrochemical Industry

The Department of Petrochemical Engineering has invited a guess speaker to deliver a “IR 4.0 in Petrochemical Industry” talk, which was held on 4 April 2019 from 12 - 2pm at EDK 3 for third year PE students. 48 students and Dr. Leong Siew Yoong were present during the talk. A short report on IR 4.0 in Petrochemical Industry is elaborated below.
The talk was conducted for 2hours. Presentations were delivered by Mr. Kaarthik from PETRONAS Sdn. Bhd. The talk introduces systemic transformation of manufacturing enabled by the convergence of physical-digital systems to improve quality, lower costs, and increase efficiency. Industry 4.0 combines digital and physical advanced technologies and has the potential to transform the downstream oil and gas industry.
