Silicon Road in Taiwan - Past, Present and Beyond

The department welcomed Prof. Lee Chen-Yi from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) to present a talk on Silicon Road in Taiwan - Past, Present and Beyond. Prof. Lee currently holds the posts of Senior Vice-President, NYCU; Professor, Institute of Electronics, NYCU; Adjunct Researcher, Executive Yuan; Member, Science & Technology Policy Advisory Office, BOST, Executive Yuan; and Board Member, MediaTek Education Foundation.



Prof. Lee Chen-Yi commenced the technical talk by providing an overview of the historical development of Taiwan's Silicon Road. With a keen focus on key milestones and strategic initiatives, Prof. Lee unraveled the transformative phases that have played a pivotal role in shaping the nation's semiconductor industry.

Next, he examined of the present landscape of Taiwan's semiconductor industry. Prof. Lee, drawing on insights from industry leaders, shed light on the cutting-edge advancements in technology and manufacturing capabilities that define the current state of the Silicon Road.

Prof. Lee explored the research infrastructure supporting Taiwan's semiconductor industry. He illuminated the technological innovations that serve as the backbone of the industry's success.
